We had the chance to test drive the EV9 for several hours on a local highway and found it to be a breeze to drive and comfortable for long distances. The ride is smooth over bumps and ruts, and the EV9 does a great job of reducing wind and road noise on the highway. The acceleration is quite fast and the car has adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one pedal driving" by simply lifting off of the accelerator.

The EV9 has excellent range and can be fully recharged within three hours at home, or using any commercial charger. The driver has the option of choosing between two operating modes: eco mode and sport mode. The eco mode prioritizes the torque and cruise control, while the sport mode is designed to maximize speed and handling. Both are fun to drive and provide a unique driving experience for anyone that has never driven an electric vehicle before.
GreenPower offers several other eVehicles that include a multi-purpose all-electric minibus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used for executive shuttles, microtransit or transit vanpools, buses, and paratransit vehicles.

Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA certified. This means that they are eligible for federal assistance in transit. We will be following the AV Star as it makes its demonstration tour in later this year. We will be sure to provide more information on this amazing electric vehicle!
